If you are into modding there is more "good" mods for tiberian sun, but it is alot easier to install for C&C 3 because of dedicated modding applications like desura. Also it is worth mentioning that having an additional faction in C&C 3 naturally gives more replayability and more strategic depth.
Skirmish wise they both play smoothly as you expect from a C&C game, I will actually give tiberian sun an edge balance wise, but here you gotta be fair with the fact there is more to balance in C&C 3. Joseph Kucan does a splendid performance in both and carries the rest of the cast, though the scrin campaign gives c&c 3 a little edge from my perspective. What the rest of the game regards they are both strong contenders in the story department, but as mentioned before I often felt the tiberian sun story missions where at times to scripted and it didn't bother me too much the first time around but it wrecks replayability. Sure you can find private server nests for it, but what accessibility for MP regards C&C 3 is a clear winner. Multiplayer is ONLY in C&C 3, since the official server support of tiberian sun is long shut down. Both games are good, but before I go into any detail on it let me just get this out of the way.
